          Automotive

The automotive industry is the third largest sector, with 8.6% of European demand for plastics.
Plastics are increasingly accepted as a substitute for metals and alloys in the manufacture of automotive parts, with the aim of reducing total vehicle weight, increasing the efficiency of components and providing resistance against chemical corrosion.
Plastics are used in various automotive parts, such as bumpers, seats, upholstery products, dashboards and inner and outer linings. Polypropylene – at 37% – is the most popular plastic material.
